Message from the congress Patron

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It gives us great pleasure to personally invite you to the annual meeting of Indian Cartilage Society (ICS) 2023 to be held in Dubai on 13th to 14th May, 2023. The cartilage injuries, especially in young patients, is the holy grave of orthopaedics. The scientific knowledge related to cartilage pathologies and management is limited, yet fast evolving. Moreover, the efficacy of treatments proposed have controversial success. It is commendable that ICS has taken the initiative to provide a platform for discussion and learning about management of cartilage diseases through their annual dedicated meeting. I am delighted to welcome you for the 2023 annual ICS meeting to Dubai, the land of opportunities.

This year’s scientific program for ICS 2023 which has been carefully designed to address the controversies in the literature about management of cartilage disorders. We gathered a group of high-profile speakers that will cover a diverse range of topics. There will be case panel discussions and didactic lectures with insights and updates on the latest research and rapid developments in the field.

Message from the congress President

Since year 2005 when I founded Indian Cartilage Society, I had a larger dream of propagating cartilage science in this part of the world. Along with a few colleagues, we made a humble beginning and took four years to have our first cartilage workshop of India in year 2009 and then 1st ICS congress in year 2011. We continued with our baby steps and could do ICS congresses every alternate year. We also reached out to sports community and did many programs such as Injury Free Sportsmen. One more initiative was to do Consensus Meeting of ICS and we came out with ‘ICS India guidelines booklet’ for the cartilage repair. Thanks to the strong ICS team of Nishith Shah, Raju Vaishya, P Rajasekar, Santosh Sahanand, Saurabh Mathur, Vijay Shetty, Rajat Jangir, Rahul Shivadey and many active executive committee members and life members; we could progress to an extent of doing yearly ICS congresses. In year 2023, I can proudly say that Indian Cartilage Society is the 2nd largest cartilage society in the world.

Message from the congress Secretary

Indian Cartilage Society ICS is organizing its first meeting outside India to spread the Science of Cartilage to this region. We orthopedic surgeons, well understand that Chondral injuries still present a significant challenge in terms of clarity of treatment protocols and its outcomes in our surgical practice. ICS and ICRS have been addressing this lacunae for the past 15+ years but there is still some more to learn based on the extensive research that this subspecialty is generating.

As the Secretary of ICS and the Organizing secretary of this Congress I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all delegates to interact and learn from the leaders in the field about the diagnosis, management and treatment guidelines for Chondral injuries . I welcome you all for the first dedicated Congress for Cartilage Repair in the UAE where we hope that you as a participant will be able to understand and address the challenges that you face in your daily practice and learn from the deliberations so as to give the best outcome to your patient based on the latest guidelines.
